You laugh about early game, but it's a real thing...mitigated some by being there for a bit, but still a real thing.

Who DID play better in morning games? It's the equivalent of a 11A tip in Austin and a 10A tip for NC State...
 
Beware the back door cut. Always a vulnerability for us. Coach Moore mentioned it. That is how Stanford took us out the last time we played them in an Elite Eight.
 
I hope for a stellar game by Madison and Taylor, but more so, DeYona. I just think she really needs to grab the game by the horns and play in the moment. She won't get many more of these opportunities.

Every team has its strengths and weaknesses... and I think most of us here know what ours are. That said, this game will challenge our weaknesses more than any we've played so far. We're overdue to put a complete game together and we'll need one today. Please note that I'm not saying that we cannot win, just saying we need to really show up physically, mentally, and strategically. There won't be much margin for error... limiting turnovers, making layups, free throws, and rebounds will be crucial.

Let's go!!! :hookem2:

Repeating from another thread.

ABC has been good to Texas as of late.

Beat UConn in women's hoops.

Football beat Okie State for Big 12 championship.

Women's volleyball beat Nebraska for national championship.
 
I am starting to think that our scouting is superb and the practices really focus on how to play the opponent. The Zags clearly decided Booker was not going to beat them, but they did not plan on others taking up the scoring slack. If you would have given the half time player points, I would have said we were behind by 10. During half time, the announcers sketched out the Vic scoring movement of our whole team that leaves the last player with the ball with a clean shot. They said, you have to have the talent to pull that offense off. It was work of art and we hope it keeps us rolling. I missed the Booker mid range attempts but the Zags defense against her was very effective.
 
Vic’s teams at Texas seem to really gel in late February and March and that has been the trend again this year. (Last year was blown out of the water with injuries). I think he has said a lot of that is due to the defensive execution sometimes takes time to come together. He’s been pretty happy with defense lately. Offense is probably going to be Madison and the Bigs because I think their guards will lock down the Shay’s although I sure hope not.

I’m going with The Minister of Defense again for the W today. Will be a tough game though and not sure my nerves are ready for that

Yep. The weakness for this team is the backdoor cuts. Moore knows how to attack Texas. If Texas starts to give up layups like they did against Oklahoma in the first game then it's going to be a problem. With Moore mentioning the back door cuts, I think that NC State will win.

I don’t see them stopping the Shay’s..expecting a big game from them. Holle is intuitive and an incredible athlete
 
Also Vic can't be stubborn. If/when the Texas guards struggle defending NC State's guards, he needs to play some zone.

Gonzalez and Holle can't consistently create their own shot. Which makes them easy to guard against athletic teams.

You’ll probably have better luck staying off Hornfans until 9:00 regarding the outcome of the game. Enjoy your family

May I respectfully submit that one can never be free until one learns to say no. This is altogether an urgent matter to which you must attend, live and in person.

Actually no. It was Stanford's size, athleticism and defense that did us in. It was so bad that Matharu didn't even attempt several shot opportunities when it looked like she was open. And Ebo was getting stuffed inside.

We had limited offensive options that year.
We are a bit better situated this year.

My feelings exactly. Have snacks, Easter candy during game and big sit down dinner to celebrate the win at 3pm.

NCAA awards a Regional Champion trophy which they are celebrating along with a trip to the Final Four
