Crosby always kicked with only a sock on as I remember.

I recall trying to kick barefoot back in the day. Couldn't do it. I was the punter on our team until my Sr. year when another teammate proved to be better.

Track star, Olympian, pretty decent NFL career.
My two favorite Longhorn memories were when he was flagged for a personal foul blocking for Mike Davis @ UCLA in 2012 and sticking a dagger in the aggies heart on a kickoff return in 2009.
The first was a hellacious block on a Bruin defensive back. Didn’t think he deserved the flag. The DB should have had his head on a swivel. The kickoff return resulted in silencing Kyle Field in world record time.

Deryl Comer, Highland Park

Tight end who was Dave Thomas before there was a Dave Thomas. Clutch receiver with tremendous hands, averaging 15.1 yards per catch along with 4 touchdowns in his Longhorn career.
Missed the 69 Natty rehabbing a knee injury but returned to play in the 1970 campaign.

1996 Big 12 championship. Priest Holmes 11 yard TD run on the next play iced it for us. Great memory there.

Correct. Say what you want about Mackovic - the man was not afraid to take a chance. That call totally surprised the Huskers, and James Brown found Lewis totally wide open (ten yards clear of the Husker DB).

You know, I could believe the only ones not surprised were Mackovic and the 11 Texas players on the field. I thought this was an attempt to draw Nebraska offside. Lots of things went right on that play for Texas, among them Brown's fake to Ricky, Ricky's backside peel-back block on a closing Nebraska player, Lewis wrapping up just before the tackle (clued by watching the stadium video screen, he later said.) Just a marvelous play.
