NCAA First Two Rounds

Lobo and Creme were on a halftime show earlier today and Creme said if there were 5 #1 seeds Texas would be the fifth. Lobo said that if Texas ends up a #2 seed, they are the team #1 seeds would least rather play. She raved about the defense and Booker. They only showed highlights for Texas (in the conference championship game). Very Texas positive segment

Looking ahead a bit, I think we got a good draw in this bracket with a chance for a deep run. However, that 2nd round matchup might be a tough out. Ta'Niya Latson is an all-american, amazing two-way player, and one that Vic really wanted. Here she was on her 2021 official visit:
 
Overall, the committee had a higher opinion of the Big 12 than click bait Charlie Creme.
1-seed Texas, Creme had as a 2-seed;
4-seed Kansas State, Creme had as a 5-seed;
5-seed Baylor, Creme had as a 6-seed;
7-seed Iowa State, Creme had as an 8-seed; and
8-seed Kansas, Creme had as a 9-seed.

There were 2 exceptions:
5-seed Oklahoma, Creme had as a 5-seed; and
8-seed West Virginia, Creme had as a 6 seed.

Creme's last 4 byes: Maryland, Michigan, Miami, Auburn
Creme's last 4 in: Marquette, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Arizona

Committee's last 4 byes: Florida State, Maryland, Marquette, Texas A&M
Committee's last 4 in: Auburn, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Columbia
 
Dumb question #2. What advantage does being #1 seed have over being #2 seed in a region? If Stanford were #1 and Texas #2, wouldn't be hope to be meeting up against each other anyway in Spokane in an Elite Eight game?

To get there #1 has to beat #4 while #2 has to beat #3. That is the real advantage but the #1 plays lower seeds the whole way there as well and all that assumes everyone plays to their seeding.
 
The winner of Alabama/Florida State will definitely be a challenge. Like Vic says, our body of work earned us a one seed, but now it's time to go live up to it. It's going to take hard work and focus to survive and advance... one game at a time. I'm really proud of this team!

I've often wondered if he watches anything outside the Eastern Time Zone or the nationally broadcast games on ESPN. He doesn't seem to have much knowledge about teams outside the top 10 - rarely mentions the Midwest, WAC, other mid-majors, or teams in the middle of their conferences. I get it that the top ranked teams and their stars deserve attention, but throughout the season there are great games, interesting players, school record-setting performances. Don't think he's particularly biased, but I don't think of him as someone with a breadth of information. Andrea Carter and Rebecca Lobo are much more informed.

I called the ticket office today. I am a season ticket holder and was told they're still working on assigning seats. Should hear something tomorrow (Wednesday)

UConn? Seriously? They play NOBODY in their conference, and they barely should be a 2….more like a 4….
