I know, right? Now that it's a done deal, I kind of like that she didn't want all the hoopla around her. But I'm still nosy... I want to know what's going on!

Hardly any of these transfer processes are kept completely quiet on social media these days, especially one like 4-5 weeks since Oldacre entered the transfer portal in late March.

Timea Gardiner's is also one where no one on social media has leaked any schools of interest or any info about scheduled visits or visits taken.

Early on, I thought she'd be an excellent pick. I saw her play throughout the season; thought she did fairly well. I don't think she will have trouble coming in off the bench and will often play substantial minutes to spell Taylor.

I’m always thinking ahead…..kinda meddling. Not sure Schaefer is done. But if he is…..are Horns better with Jones/Oldacre/Boutillier than Jones/Faye/Gaston/Muhammed. I always considered Gaston and Muhammad fours but I won’t argue the point. Certainly Gaston had a better mid-range game and Muhammad more versatility. So we’ll miss both of those qualities. Maybe it’s just different. Jones/Oldacre will have problems with the hard hedges defensively and can’t venture to the arc defensively. But they bring things others will have to deal with. I’d love to have that third extra big that could cover those defensive deficiencies. Perhaps the teammate of new Michigan two guard?

Interesting observation that actually still gives me hope then. I was concerned that there were not Texas/Timea follows (other than Taylor which is probably old), but now that I look, I also see follows by Timea (from when?) of Amo, Shay, and Ndjakalenga. Does this mean she visited at some point?

All transfers we had room for Phelia before the transfers with Shaylee grad. I think we get at least 1 maybe 2 to 3 more players. I’m sticking to what I said about those ankles and they was not of a black woman IMO
 
Depth chart as of today:
PG: Rori, Preston
SG: Phelia,Lee,Graves(I don’t think she on ship)
SF: Booker, Jak, Codio
PF: Moore, Carlton
C:Taylor/Oldacre, Boutlier(I don’t think she on ship)
That’s 11 if Graves and Boutlier no ship 13 if they are so 2-4 spots left if my math is matching.
 
I think we did well getting Kyla considering we got a late start looking for a center/ forward in the portal. I hope Timea comes for a recruiting visit also, if she hasn't already.
 
As of now, the 2024 roster would have 14 players. But, several haven't seen much if any playing time (mainly due to injury): Boutilier, Codio, Graves.

So, that leaves 11 players, 3 of which are true freshmen. So, that leaves 8 players who have played meaningful college basketball; that's not even 2-deep at every position.

It's way too early to think the staff is "done" as we're barely wrapping up April. The transfer portal entry deadline (to receive automatic eligibility for the upcoming season) is May 1.
 
What I find most intriguing about Gardiner and Dauda is shooting from distance combined with length and ability to play down low. While she doesn't keep pace with Gardiner, it seems like Dauda's really worked on it. She went from 25.0% (6/24) as a freshman to 31.9% (29/91) last season. That isn't going to scare a lot of people but it should keep them honest.
 
Well…..this last few weeks from March 18 has been a barrel of laughs. Maybe not exactly laughs but perhaps grins and grimaces. It all ends in about 7 hours 37 minutes. At midnight tonight, the transfer portal closes. Not sure there will be any major last gasp entries. However, perhaps there are a few that like to live on the edge. Entries are one thing. Commitments are another. I believe the only deadline to commit/sign with a new school destination is start of fall classes. I’m thinking lots of teams will continue on the recruiting trail all summer. Schaefer included. I don’t believe the 2024-2025 team is complete. So I’ll be hovering here for news. I will NOT be lurking on IG, FACEBOOK, X or other. But please do so at your peril and my enjoyment. Hook ‘Em
