Your son will always be a son, brother, and friend in the Hornfans family. He is greatly missed but lives on in our hearts and memories. God bless you and your family.

He will be missed... I enjoyed his energy on the forums, especially on the basketball forum durring basketball season.
He had wit and knowledge.
I am sorry for your lose.

Hook'em Horns and God Bless your family....

I can only imagine the pain you are still enduring after such a tragedy.... seeing his photo in this medium where we all come to share our thoughts and feelings only makes the situation all that more real and hit close to home which makes me think of how incredibly difficult it must be for your family...
our thoughts are with you all and hope that things are slowly getting better for you...

I haven't been to a UT home game in 3 years, but if I can make it to one game and one tailgate this season I'll try to make it for your appearance at the Baylor festivities...

tomorrow will be a beautiful day and your son is looking down upon us... chin up and hook 'em...

God bless you, sir. I hope to hear from you around here on the message boards too.

Another day to be proud to be a Longhorn fan.

Can we get this pinned to the top for all to see?

Thanks to the Durrenbergers for raising such a true gentleman.

I still remember his post regarding the Prom. A lot of what is written on Hornfan is just BS,but that initial post was real and his youth really came through in a sincere way. You could tell he was a good kid and everyone here had a good time with him on that thread.

No one can feel the loss that a parent does, but make no mistake about it,your son is truly missed here at Hornfan.

God bless you and your son had lots of friends here on the boards that truly miss him. Although most of us never met him in person, we will all continue to miss him and pray for all of you.

Your son was bright, clever, and a gentleman. Your family and his friends lost a truly inspirational young man; and I can't begin to imagine the grief.

May God bless and continue to comfort your family.

Mr. Durrenberger:

Hornfans is a family. We've got dems and reps and young and old and black and white and hispanic and asian. This family argues and teases, laughs and cries and comes and goes. We've even got ags and huskers and sooners.

One thing about this family is that, despite all the bickering and teasing, I think we care very much for eachother, just like brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles. Although I never met your son, and probably never would have as I am several years older than he was, I think you can tell that he was well liked by all the posters in this family. We were all saddened and stunned by the loss of your son Gary.

Your family is in the thoughts and prayers of this family. Please consider Hornfans your family. I think all would agree that we think of you and Mrs. Durrenberger as part of our family.

I know this sounds mushy, and it is. But it is heartfelt just like all of Gary's posts. I'll close this mushy post with what my father still tells me:

Never, EVER, forget that the Eyes of Texas are Upon You.

Man, that picture makes me want to cry - tears of joy and sorrow.

Look forward to meeting you Mr. Durrenberger. Stay strong.

Didn't know him personally, but I miss his posts.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. God Bless your family!

I hope to see you there Sir.... Your son was a blessing to us. He is, I think with CP and Jose cheering our Horns from the BEST seat in the house!!

TEXAS FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received the chance to speak to Gary in March because I was trying to get him to come up and watch UT play in Denver.

He was a great kid and my prayers go out to you and your family in this difficult time.

God Bless you and your family. We miss Gary on this board, he was a great poster.

I can assure you, I will do everything I can to be there for the Baylor tailgate. I know Gary will be happy to know you are carrying on the love for the Longhorns!!

Mr. and Mrs. Durrenberger
I know that many of us hornfans feel like we lost a younger brother. It can never rival your loss, but I know that more than a handful of us shed many tears.

Thanks for including the picture in your post and God Bless you and your family.

than words can describe. I think many of us were living vicariously through him almost living a second childhood.

Please take care and know that you raised a wonderul person and son who touched the lives of many.

God Bless

Mr. D, I agree with what the others have said here. Gary was loved for his opinions on this board. Unlike lots of us, I don't remember thinking anything Gary had to say was asinine. He was a fine young man who loved his Horns. As someone else said, the first thing I thought of when I heard Chris Mihm was traded was what mihm_rules would have thought about it.

God bless y'all. We will continue to pray that God will ease your suffering. Gary is greatly missed.
