WV and OU are still tied at the top with 4 losses. OSU at 5 and Texas 6, 2 games back. Still possible with a series against OU and OSU to come.

I drove down to Houston today to help my brother move. I listened to the game on the radio. I was really crestfallen when it was 7-3 as I pulled into his driveway. We watched the last 2 innings on his TV. Wow my frame of mind really turned around. This team saved my weekend!

He does have a really good arm. Thomas was a pretty good pitcher in high school.

They are still very inconsistent. UofH is in dead last and we squeaked by and made their pitchers looks pretty good at times. Another issue for our hitters, besides having a hard time in consistently stringing together hits to score runs, is way too many strikeouts. They struck out 43 times against the Cougars.

To go very far our pitching needs to improve greatly, it is the weakest in years, and the hitting needs to be more consistent. There is a lot of talent in the lineup.

There is more than one example of a position player moving to the mound late in college and eventually making it as a solid starting pitcher in the show.
