I tried that trick at 2006 Rose Bowl. Had $1100 cash in hand and people who had been to the Rose Bowl the previous year told me about tickets going way below face value at kickoff. Well there wasn't a damn ticket to be found all day in Pasadena. Ended up watching at a fantastic Texas tailgate about 200 yds outside the stadium. When my grandkids hear the story, I'll probably tell them I was on the 50 yd line.So it’s risky but a friend years ago went to the Miami Ohio State game in Arizona without tickets in advance.
They talked to the sellers at the stadium before the game and were told ridiculous prices. They waited until they heard the National Anthem start and they paid half or less than was originally being asked.
There is a risk in this but, once the ball is kicked the resellers are holding a quickly diminishing asset.
Good luck, Gentlemen.
