Brisket is overpriced, a pain to cook, and a waste of grilling time that could be spent on something far better tasting.

The average American today speaks with an accent closer to that of the average Englishman of the 1770s. Back then the differences between the common and upper-class English accents were a lot subtler, but the "rich folk" over time intentionally started poshing-up their speech to distinguish them better from the riff-raff.

That's where a lot of the "pronouncing A like O" comes from (path pronounced as if it were spelled poth), as well as the chopping off of R's from a bunch of words and sticking them on other words (father and data pronounced like fatha and dater).
