Air Force

Ugh, I don't like having to root against our military.
I never root against them in these games, I just root for the home team, which is why I enjoy playing the military academies (unlike other schools, which I always root against). I just feel honored when our school has the opportunity to compete with them.

I don't approach these games like I would for aggy or the gomers. But I did get a good laugh when their coach said that AF pararescue is 'pretty much the same thing as the Navy SEALS'.
They both have important missions, and they both draw in the highly motivated and physically fit (to an elite level) sailors/airmen. But they don't do the same things.

Yeah I wasn't a SEAL, I was assigned to a support unit.

One of the toughest people I met in my service years was a PJ (pararescue jumper) that was going through OTS (Officer Training School). He was about 5'8" and possibility had an inferiority complex because of that. We decided he needed some cooling off and a couple of us tried to put him in a shower. Instead, he ended up putting one of us into a wall. Fortunately my construction skills learned in college allowed be to fix the hole before anyone else saw it. Completely different skill sets than SEALs but still tough as nails. I won't ever root against Texas but truly support all the service academies and folks who serve anywhere.

Chad Hennings ( AF Academy and Dallas Cowboy)was an outlier. He was 6'6"
If he had stayed in, maybe they'd make a bomber pilot, cargo plane pilot, or a ground maintenance or loading/logistics officer out of him? One Air Force vet I know is 6'2" - 6'3" and he flew a C-130 Cargo plane.

That height would make for a very tight fit for a fighter pilot though...

Chad flew A-10 Thuderbolt
