2024 Recruiting - Football

QB Julian Sayin of Carlsbad, CA told 247 he's planning a return trip to Texas this spring.

He was one of the top performers last weekend at the Under Armour camp in Los Angeles.

Until Texas gets back to dominating the recruiting related to Texas kids, we will not finish the season at the top. Yes there are good kids everywhere but Mack owned the state of Texas for 10+ years and produced 10 wins year after year. What you have at home matters. Lets hope on the field improves this year and the recruits will notice.

Per OrangeBloods, a recruit that CB Aeryn Hampton (Daingerfield) is working to get to Texas with him is RB Derrick McFall (Tyler High).

They went to junior high together and are close friends.

Hampton is also after DE/LB Colin Simmons (Duncanville), who is arguably the top player in the nation for his class.

The USC magic and Riley's silver tongue will pull in all of the Pacific Time Zone + Arizona kids in droves.
Good point, Viper - but IMO USC needs to go further to be in a position to dominate recruiting in the Pacific Time Zone and Arizona; they need to win the PAC-12 and get some national recognition. And for the next couple of years, beating Oregon and Utah will not be easy (for USC or anyone else).

Yea, Riley will make an initial splash.
But if they don't dominate will recruits want to be there?
Or would top receivers want to catch balls from Ewers or Arch if he comes here?
Would top QBs, WRs and RBs choose Texas if our OL recruiting class delivers as we hope it will?
I don't necessarily see USC wrapping up all top recruits in the Pacific time zone.
Hell, some may want to specifically get out of that time zone for better television coverage.

Moon,

I disagree. Riley has no competition. UCLA plays an hour across town in an empty Rose Bowl. (Have I said before that pit is the worst managed facility in America?)

University of
Caucasians Lost among Asians ain't what it used to be.

Oregon and their neon uniforms has lost its luster and its coaches.

Stanford can compete because of the quality of the education and their bragging that they "have never flunked a football player out of school"; however, having a coach that got his personality from "******** R Us" isn't helping them.

In spite of having burglar bars on the football dorm and having only one "safe" bar within ten miles, USC can and will dominate recruiting of the left coast because of the coeds, the rich kids and alumni.

Like an old friend of mine from Hobbs, NM told me, "the biggest problem I had at USC was choosing between an heir to the Disney fortune and the heir to Kaiser"
