2022 regionals

I’m sure Dolcini will get the start and I’m confident she can lead this team very far. I hope the offense can put up enough runs so Dolcini won’t have to pitch the whole game because it’s clear she’s going to get leaned on like Elish did if not more.

Key players for me are not players like Jefferson & Iakopo. It’s players like Dayton, Popelka and the small ball. If we get that part together then we can make some noise in the tournament.

What this doesn't show is that McNeese was up 10-0 in the first inning. We beat McNeese this year, like we do most times. And we lost to Notre Dame this year.
 
Plays like that are what I was talking about. Have to get that bunt down and advance the runners instead of popping up. It’s the first inning but it’s better to have it now instead of it not coming until it’s too late.
 
I don’t know but I feel like Whitaker is just not ready this season. It hasn’t been there all season and first at bit is a strikeout. Same goes for Gilbert. I really believe it needs to be Dayton and Burke especially after Burke got the walk off hit in her last at bat and Dayton is the best out fielder we have defensively and can get it done at the plate. Hopefully he switches this lineup around next game.

I was grumbling at Mike's lineup today until we were ahead 3-0. Okay, what do I know then? And there's the Czech we saw for a short stretch in the middle of the season.
 
Washington committed 4 errors and used three pitchers including their ace Plain for 3 innings.
They looked very beatable, hopefully tomorrow looks the same.
 
We don’t look ready to play or like we wanna be there. If being in the ncaa tournament isn’t motivation enough for you then I don’t know what it’s going to take. A coach should not have to gather the team and try to light a fire in them in the middle of the game especially with all the seniors we have.
 
Why would Jordyn Whitaker have started over LB anyway? LB had a pinch hit single last game and had one in the B12 tournament too, she should be starting. Whitaker’s swings aren’t even close to the ball, and against Plain that was very predictable.

smart decision by Tarr to get Plain out before we see her anymore.

I think LB is still dealing with an injury. You saw her not slide right there and was running rather slow. Would also explain her not starting.

We will see Plain again, we didn’t have an earned run off of her and Washington is the higher seed. 90% is not correct. Also, rules are rules? That has nothing to do with this situation.
Luckily two of the three batters she faced in the 7th were pinch hitters.

Lauren Burke said the reason she was out for so long was because of Kidney stones. They way she was running and her not sliding shows she is still dealing with that or possibly another injury because, she’s for sure faster than what we saw around those bases.

I will say that I continually am surprised by the pinch hitting for Popelka. She’s a threat and seems to be proving it. But she’s subbed out for an AB at least once a game it feels.
