2021 Softball Season

Chris Del Conte are you listening? Softball is just beginning to get the national fan base and recognition it deserves! After watching some of the teams and stadiums in the NCAA tournament Texas is in dire need to upgrade McCombs to be more fan friendly! Love Okie State’s outfield bleachers!

So, although it didn't fell like it, this concludes the second best winning percentage (43-14, 0.754) since the 2013 year (51-10, 0.836). I didn't count last year.

Stat comparison from the NCAA. Tables aren't 100% the same since they started including some other stats.. And, some stats can be misleading like Arianna's ERA.

The days of riding one pitcher game after game are long gone. Gonna need 2 more good ones for sure.

This is interesting for softball nerds. I've been looking for any VR softball game. Yeah, this isn't a game, but fascinating.

I've come to the realization our offensive numbers this year were a fraud. Just watching the at bats at the WCWS of teams that have no where near the numbers we put up its obvious. They make adjustments, take walks, can bunt, use all fields. The list goes on but all things Texas didn't do against slightly above average pitching.

This final-2-only reset is kind of weird. It's a double elimination tournament, and Oklahoma lost twice, but they aren't out, because they lost in the Finals.

That's the way it's been for both softball and baseball for quite a while now. The championship is a best 2-out-of-3 series regardless of pool play record.

I'm rewatching our baylor game and didn't hear it the first time but they did indeed confirm, Jacobsen will be on staff next season as a graduate assistant.

I know, I just think it's not a good way to do it. Four completely separate stages for the playoffs is silly. When you've got 8 teams left, and you're not doing single-elim, you should set it up where anyone could potentially play anyone, and where teams don't get a double bonus for winning where they also get a free pass through an early round, but also where you do get rewarded for winning by not having the loss-counter reset for your opponent.
