Big time addition for Texas. Her, Akana, and Halter will be a force in the backcourt and since Texas is adding beach in the spring that will help with our defense tremendously. One of the key reasons Nebraska has such good defense each year.Ohio State middle blocker -Powell has signed with Clemson. I don't see us going after the libero as Carissa Barnes, graduate transfer from UT-Corpus Christi has announced she is coming to Austin.

From what I’m hearing is that Ohio state either doesn’t offer their masters program or they didn’t have a scholarship available since Ohio state signed a big freshman class. The 4th player from Ohio State, 3rd starter, Jenaisya Moore has entered the transfer portal. She was one of the most impressive against us.
After their best season in school history I am curious as to why we are seeing so many players transfer...
All 4 have been grad transfers with 1 year of eligibility left.
I can't see how you would turn away two All-Americans, 2 of the only few AA in school history, no matter how good your freshman class is, so I don't think availability is the issue. From what I’m hearing is that Ohio state either doesn’t offer their masters program or they didn’t have a scholarship available since Ohio state signed a big freshman class.
There possibly could be a problem within the program but Texas did the same with Brionne Butler. She had the opportunity to move on but Jerritt and her said it was in her best interest to leave and move on. If Londot enters the portal then then it would confirm there are issues but since everyone leaving are 5th year seniors then the academic issue could be the case.I can't see how you would turn away two All-Americans, 2 of the only few AA in school history, no matter how good your freshman class is, so I don't think availability is the issue.
Also, I don't see how Ohio State University can offer such less than other P5 schools, especially when those ladies assumably entered college for that major and knew that OSU didn't offer it. I do get that a masters program is different than their original major and due to covid they would have needed a new school to play a fifth year if it wasn't offered, but no way OSU is so deficient that 3 of their best 4 players have to look elsewhere to finish their careers.
I have also seen the chatter on Twitter but neither reason makes much sense to me. If there was another issue within the program we wouldn't know about it and that seems most likely to me.
Melanie Parra has entered the transfer portal.
Sorry to see her go, but not surprising.Melanie Parra has entered the transfer portal.
Was wondering when this was going to happen. Coach obviously wanting to go big. With Devin getting more reps. next season, the big freshman coming in, and who knows what in the portal, Melanie was going to get passed up. Still a sad loss.Melanie Parra has entered the transfer portal.
M.Parra can be a starter on any team.I never understood why Pierce signed with Texas. There was no spot for her to take
Sounds to me like the head coach didn't plan her scholarship distributions very well (and certainly didn't consider leaving room for transfers either). She knew 2 years ago everyone would get an extra year, but still signed enough recruits to push all the seniors out. Speaking of Podraza, I assume we need a big time setter to replace SKT? Podraza was 2nd team AA (she's a 3-time AA) and put up serious stats in a loaded conference. Here's a nice interview with Mac and OSU head coach from a few days ago:I can't see how you would turn away two All-Americans, 2 of the only few AA in school history, no matter how good your freshman class is, so I don't think availability is the issue.

I agree that taking talented portal players will affect our recruiting but if we hadn’t done it this season we wouldn’t have a national championship. College sports are turning into a portal game.A little birdie told me that we’re getting someone else from the portal. Not sure who it could be! We don’t need any more on the pins. I would say a libero but y’all are saying we got Carissa Barnes. Only position I could see is a setter since we have two young freshman setters.
Another birdie told me that Texas and Mac Podraza are both mutually interested in each other. Not sure how I feel especially seeing how good Ella Swindle is. I’m afraid constantly going in the portal will affect future recruits from wanting to come.
Pierce ends up at Georgia Tech.
