Kadin’s fine. He’s just not in a position right now where he can go back-to-back nights. The other night was a physical game. He was on that floor a lot,” Texas coach Rodney Terry said following his team’s 81-71 loss to the Huskies. “To bring him back in another physical game tonight, he’s just not ready for that right now.”

No. 15 Texas forward Kadin Shedrick held out vs fifth-ranked UConn as a precaution

"Texas forward Kadin Shedrick was held out of Monday night's 81-71 loss to No. 5 UConn after having surgery during the offseason on both shoulders. The school said the decision was made as a precaution."

You could see how bad he wanted to be in that game but I think they made the right decision especially with Disu’s return tentative. Big picture

Smart decision. Why risk even the slightest soreness on either shoulder for a game that doesn't affect season.
Good coaching decision RT :hookem2:

The announcers mentioned several times that Disu was running hard in pregame (I don't know if they meant pregame warmups or pregame practice shoot around). I know that just running is not anywhere near the stress put on a foot in actual game action but has anyone heard anything new. We really could use a healthy Disu and Shedrick against Shaka's Golden Eagles.

I don't think anyone reasonably thought that we'd be able to beat UConn with Shedrick, and the fact that we kind of hung in there for the 2nd half shows that we're better than we thought. This team with a healthy Disu will be able to play with pretty much anyone. We're not a national championship team, but we're a tourney team based on what I've seen.

I'd say 2nd weekend team, and with the right breaks and/or draw, a possible 3rd weekend team.

If the Horns are healthy come March Madness I think this team can play with anyone. They were very good against a loaded big team, UConn.

We have our two best big men and we are fully capable of a deep run in March.

in today's 86-63 Victory over Wyoming

"Texas: Shedrick, a 6-11 graduate student, returned to the lineup after missing a game against Connecticut on Monday in New York. Shedrick, who underwent surgery to both shoulders during the offseason, was held out of the game Monday as a precaution after scoring a career-best 27 points in a season-high 27 minutes against Louisville on Sunday. He played 26 minutes against Wyoming. Texas is still awaiting the return of starter Dylan Disu, a 6-9 forward who is recovering from foot surgery."

Shedrick is still hurting. I was at Marquette game and was wincing in pain a couple of times and grabbing his shoulder.
