Brit Tommy Fleetwood was tied with him through 16 but succumbed to the pressure to close out.
 
That 1500 final was pretty amazing. US takes 1st & 3rd from 2 guys that weren't even expected to medal.

It was. The Viking was a real douche bag. I wanted him to lose. He had a big mouth, just like Noah Lyles. I always root against the loudmouths.
 
So the NBA all star Olympic basketball team is losing to Serbia 67-59 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. I almost never hope for an American loss, but this would be very humbling and embarrassing for them to lose. I'm not sure they really care about this anyway, so maybe they wouldn't be all that bothered by losing.
 
USA beats Serbia 95-91. Hopefully they wake up and realize the world has gotten better and they can't just sleep walk through this thing.

This team of NBA all stars has no business being behind for about 95% of that game. Serbia is very talented, but they are not on the same plane as the US.

She took the baton in 4th place for the final leg of the 4x100 relay, then ran past Germany and France (and one other, I didn’t catch who) ... and just before the finish she glances over at Germany and France and then takes the gold. Damn that girl can fly!

Great, but the men blow it AGAIN! How fing difficult is it to pass a baton? We never had a problem in Middle School. Who the heck is coaching these guys. And we found out the order was completely re-arrange from the semi's to the final. So you replace Lyles with that 1 person, but you don't completely re-arrange.

Talk about someone that needs to be fired. Even the women had poor passes and won only because of superior speed.
 
Rules for relay:
(1) NEVER look back
(2) Only reach back for one step
(3) Practice in hotel, restaurants, site seeing, on your way to bed

Evidently very hard for the US Men for a long time. I seldom agree with Carl Lewis, but his explosion after the race was well-deserved.

Both coaches involved should be banned from coaching in the Olympics for life.
 
I watched the replay last night on NBC and it wasn't a dropped baton, it was a terrible hand off where the receiving runner went past the cut off line for the hand off disqualifying the run. I was SHOCKED how aggressive the announcer was asking the team questions in the post race. No slack given.
