NBA Finals

Celtics are really good and have a deeper bench than the Mavs. However, the Mavs have the best player in the NBA (Luka) and that may be the difference in winning the series and the crown.

We will see.

GO MAVERICKS!!! :fiestanana:

If the series continues this way, the euphemism "defense wins championships" will get some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Boston is following a fantastic plan. It reminds me of the 2001 LA Lakers against Allen Iverson: let AI go off. Clamp down on everyone not named Luka, and you're golden.

At this rate, Luka would probably need to put up 50 in order for the Mavs to have a chance.

Luka seems too injured to handle Boston. This will be over in 4 or 5.
I agree that Luca is not fully healthy. Even if he were, I don't think he alone could Handle Boston considering that the Mav supporting cast is NOT showing up.

Jones, Washington and Kyrie are all playing way below their performances in the Western conference's series vs. the clippers and the T-wolves and the Thunder. Boston is really good, and so far, the Mavs just are not matching up.

Wish I hadn't looked this up
In NBA history, teams who go up 2-0 in the Finals are 31-5.
BUT it has been done so it can be done
Go Mavs

Celtics HOT this game...

Mavs down by 21, game 3, early 4th... gonna take a miracle comeback to win in this one.

Damn Luka is MONEY!!!

Amazing cross court hook pass by Luka was almost a 3 pt. but got 2 !!!

Lead cut to 11....

4 NHL teams have come back from 3-0 down in a playoff series.

This is one of those years where the pundits were correct. People might throw Dallas a bone and wish for a Game 4 win, but this series really did come down to having leaders who are not just good defensively.

Boston is clearly the best organization in the NBA this season as everything came together for them. I would say Lucka and Irving need help, but the way they play they would probably just ignore the improvements. Jason Kidd won his championship as a player; doubtful he can up his coaching game to do the same.

While it's a little unfair because he's hurt, I've seen a lot of analysis of Luka's defense, and it's just not good. Like, worse than Dirk most of the time.

I was upset when they gave Kidd an extension. I get that you need a proven coach and it's a short list right now. I just don't think he has it in him to be that go-to guy when they need a stop.

A lot of the top historic superstars added significant areas to their game after they already were at an MVP type level. They got to a point like that, but they realized that to win championships or even maintain MVP-level play as they aged, they had to work on their weaknesses. Shooters learn to pass, defenders learn to shoot, etc. Durant is an example of someone who really improved his defense. Luka is going to have to try harder on his weaknesses, such as defense, maturity, and leadership. Where he needs to be on defense probably would require a hard-core lifestyle change of diet and conditioning, and is he willing to "try" that hard to work on a weakness?

There are rumors of a fat lady dressed as a big leprechaun hanging around deep elum.
I wish it had played out differently But I am proud of the Mavs
Now I can't decide if I want it to end tomorrow night to deny the Celtics to celebrate winning on their home court or if there is something to be learned for the future in winning tomorrow.

It is not easy to see my Mavs in this position. Was a long long time season ticket holder until I moved so far north making 45 home games was not feasible but that didn't mean I quit being a fan.
So no team has ever come from 3 down. Reality sucks
so part of me wants to spoil any home court celebration for Them
BUT then How can I want my Mavs to lose?? So when it tips off I will be screaming and yelling for MY Mavs.
GO MAVS
