Longhorns, Hossler win golf tourney

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Sophomore Beau Hossler earned the first win of his Texas career to lead the Longhorns to their second win of the season at the Johnny Hayt Collegiate Invitational on Sunday.

Hossler shot a 212 over the three-day tournament, finishing at 4-under par, five strokes ahead of the runner up. It marks Hossler's first top-five finish of this season and third top-five finish overall.

Senior Kramer Hickok also earned a top-10 finish after shooting a 73 to tie for seventh. It marks his first top-10 finish this season and fifth of his career. Freshman Scottie Scheffler shot a 74 for a share of 11th, while freshman Doug Ghim and sophomore Gavin Hall finished T-23rd and T-37th, respectively. Freshman Taylor Funk finished 33rd, playing as an individual in the tournament.

As a team, Texas finished 8-over par, four strokes ahead of runner-up North Florida.
