I'm not a golf fan but Jordan Spieth just broke a 39 year old record for a 36 hole score at the Masters as reported on The CBS Evening News and I quote, "The Masters is becoming a one man show."

"Gentle Ben" Crenshaw plays his last Masters and Spieth wins that same Masters, for his first Majors win. That would be one for the ages, like Ben winning it in 1995, for Harvey. One Longhorn passes the torch to another.

Sure was a touching scene on the 18th, when everyone said goodbye to Ben and long time caddy and friend, Carl Jackson.

Crenshaw said goodbye to Masters competition this week. Interestingly, he was the last Texan to win the Masters before Spieth. Also, more Texans have won the Masters than players any other state. Amazing feat by Spieth.

I went to the John Deere Classic 2 years ago and followed him on Thursday. I told my wife he could be a superstar, and he is living up to the hype right now.

Tiger is not my favorite person but sharing the record with him and his greatness within the game of golf, and at the same age for that matter when the record was set for both, is pretty awesome. This will give them both something to talk about over the coming years.
