Jhoon Rhee came to Texas and went to San Marcos initially. He transferred to Texas in 1960. He studied for 2 years and taught TKD. His first Black Belt was Allen Steen from Dallas, and his second was J. Pat Burleson from Fort Worth. I came under the J. Pat Burleson umbrella in Fort Worth.

In 1962, he was given an opportunity to move to D.C., where he opened a school and developed TKD in the US.

He died earlier today at 86.

HIC, my son has a black belt from Grand Master Park in the north Houston/Spring/Tomball area. Know him? The photo in the link below is old. He is an older man now.

Unified Tae Kwon Do
I don't know who he is, but growing up in Fort Worth, there was a well known TKD guy named Won Park. He also had a martial arts supply connected to his school.
