UH is playing hot at home but man, so glad Terry has added motion to the offense. We look so much better now. Hope we can pull this one out at the end. :hookem:
 
I have resigned myself to know we will never be great in basketball. I don't know why we can't field consistently good teams but that's who we are.
 
Houston is very aggressive and they play well together. They are controlling the glass. Our best players (DD and Abmas) appear to be very average against good opponents. I guess that makes sense in a way but it’s still disappointing.
 
Disu is 4/10 from the field and Abmas is 1/9 at half. Unfortunately this team needs both those guys clicking to win.

I think UH is just a better team. I posted during the first matchup that I thought they would beat us 10 times out of 10. Afraid that I was right.
 
Very curious why Cryer would leave a top ten team in Baylor for another top ten team in Houston. Could make an argument that the teams would be switched in the rankings if Cryer had stayed at Baylor. So why leave?

You’re right. Those two guys in particular are just getting bullied. I think those two have been blocked 5x. If you’re any good, then you’re best players shouldn’t get blocked 5x in a half.
 
I wonder how Abmas scored all of his points. I get how it was with Oral Roberts or wherever and against their opponents, but still. He doesn’t seem to be effective.
 
Awesome. Let’s delay this brutal beating so they can bring out a ladder to fix a meaningless camera. Maybe they can use the ladder to fix Abmas too. Please end this.
 
In fact, any time we’re humiliating an opponent at home, we should just stop the game so they can roast on the score for 10min. And then start the beating again.

Yeah. I think his success last season was due to the talent and experience of the seniors. Once they left and weren’t replaced with other great players, then this season was over. So this season was over before it started. Terry is not the solution. He’s the worst of our last three coaches. That is to say he’s our worst coach in the last 20yrs or so.
 
Last year the team had tough as nails leaders and go to guys. This year a bunch of role players, no leaders, no go to guys. Disu is a high level role player and can score when the defense cannot focus on him. I am trying to maintain a positive attitude about Terry, but since the elite 8 finish, he lost the two recruits to minor league bb (maybe nothing he could do there), the portal recruiting has not turned out well, and there seems to be no sense of direction for the program. You can contrast with fifth ward that has a coach who knows what type of player he wants, gets that type of player, and gets them to play at a consistent high level.
 
This result is exactly what we should all have expected here. Everyone take a deep breath, this effort doesn't change the goal we had before this game. We need to go 3-3 in these final 6 and win a game in the B12 tourney.

Then let's get in the dance and let it rip and see what happens. A sweet 16 season would exceed my expectations.

I agree, but who does he go get? We have everything we need for success except coaching and talent. Mental toughness and discipline are foreign words.

Admittedly I have not watched much of our games this year, but this group looked like they would have been happy with mediation determining the score, then mail it in.
 
I have no confidence in this team going 3-3. Three 20 point blowout losses in the road games are more likely than going 1-2 on the road. Based on how they have protected the home court so far, a loss to k-state or blow-u is more likely than winning all 3 at home.
 
The biggest issue for this year is the lack of portal talent. Either Texas doesn't have enough NIL for basketball (same issue as baseball) or who Texas wanted didn't want to play at Texas.

Lol, there is no problem getting players from the portal when the right people are recruiting them. This program turned around in one year being completely overhauled through the portal with final four or championship talent then two years later we're in a dumpster fire season already. Humm, what changed? What could it be? :idk:
