This dipsh!t, Salas, should know as a professor that it was a struggle of liberal democracy under the Mexican Constitution of 1824 against a reactionary anti-democracy dictatorial autocrat (Santa Anna). Of course cowering boot lickers like Salas would be down on their knees for their counterfeit savior, the totalitarian Santa Anna, while better men fought with their lives to defeat his tyranny. If he had bothered to do any research, he would have learned that multiple Mexican provinces (including Tejas/Texas) declared independence and split off from Mexico (or tried to) when Santa Anna burned the liberal 1824 Constitution and made himself absolute dictator.

Look at the flag flown by the Texans/Texicans at the Alamo. Pretty much says it all.
