The failed attempt to assassinate Trump has served to galvanize and unite the Republican party. The Dem elites dearly hope for Biden to step down, but if they force him to do so, risk further fracturing of their party and almost certainly dash any chance of winning the White House. Their perfect solution? The "untimely" demise of the Dem political albatross that is Joe Biden.
With Biden eliminated, there's no internal party resistance to the new nominee. Might ever garner some sympathy votes. Hope Joe has someone taste testing his Jello.
