Burrata on Pizza - is this a thing in the US?

So I often go to pizza places here in the UK, and a lot of places serve pizza with a blob of cheese called burrata in the middle. Until recently, I never saw this anywhere - not in pizza places in the US, not in Italy, not in Germany. However, I see it offered from time to time in more upscale pizza places in the UK and decided to try it tonight.

Wow. It looks like fresh mozzarella, but it's different. The outside of it is a lot like mozzarella, but the inside is tastier and quite a bit creamier. Essentially, you cut it open and spread that creamy love on your pizza. Very delicious.

My question - does anyone ever see this offered at Italian places in the Texas now? If you ever see it, try it. It is outstanding.

Yes, I've seen it on menus in different places around here. Its been a while since ordering this, but I'll try to think up the names of places.

Without the cheese thing, it looks exactly like a pizza I got in Italy.

I have heard that when my parents were younger, anchovies were one of the most popular toppings for pizza.

At Shakey’s we had anchovies on the menu as a topping, but only one party ever ordered them. (probably a Euro family on vacation)

I order them now.

When I was growing up, there was at least one Shakey's in Oak Cliff.

I like the name "Idiot's Delight" and might use that from time to time.

Smoked Oysters on Pizza? Sounds interesting. However, they are missing Green Olives from the menu.
