There’s no Avery Benson on the team that Beard took from obscurity to a little playing time that has Labrador-like loyalty to the man to follow him from job to job. Unless Ole Miss donors are going to write some crazy big NIL checks, I can’t imagine a reason to leave a #2 Seed, Big 12 tourney champ team with a new arena, student support, and seemingly no hiccups since Beard’s departure for your former coach’s career rehab job team.

I could conceivably see one following him. Both incoming freshmen have reiterated that they're not switching commitments from Texas, so unless something weird is afoot there, it's far more likely that we'll be picking up some portal guys (just like Beard will be).
