Attendance record for women's volleyball

Saw video of the Nebraska team's entrance on social media. Had to be thrilling for them. I wonder if we could fill DKR for a volleyball match?

I have no doubt if CDC got behind it people would get excited, it would have to be free to attend and be sometime in late October for cooler weather to have a chance. Volleyball is popular in these parts, but getting the attention of 100k people in Austin for a volleyball match would be difficult. The videos I saw from Lincoln were pretty cool.

In terms of fan fervor, volleyball is to Nebraska sports fans as UT football is to Austin sports fans. We'd be doing good to fill Moody without giving tickets away - filling DKR ain't gonna happen.

The problem with Nebraska is that volleyball is their most successful sport. Not only have they win 5 national championships but they are consistently in the top 10 of rankings and making it to the elite 8 constantly. No other sport at the University of Nebraska is close to the success of the volleyball program. Not to mention they have produced many Olympic athletes to play for USA.

The problem with Texas is that there are tons of professional sports teams here. Texas volleyball not only has to share spectators with the football, basketball, tennis, and softball teams, they also have professional sports team in Texas to worry about.

The only way I could see them breaking a record is to play Texas A&M to renew the Lone Star showdown rivalry in either Memorial Stadium or Kyle field. You can’t tell me the Longhorn and Aggie fans will pack that stadium up not only for the rivalry but for the cause.

They can have that record. It is about the ONLY good thing to happen in athletics in Lincoln since the inception of the Big XII. And to covet an attendance record just to have it is very aggy.
