For all the angst and handwringing done here when he left, I think perhaps we should reflect on the bullet we dodged instead. Remember, he didn't have a sparkling, shiny clean history in HS and we still took a chance.

EDIT: There are lots of links if you just google his name. Many of them note the dismissal and new charge comes one lousy day after he settled the case brought against him by his HS girlfriend with a measly $360 fine. Somehow, I suspect the consequences for him in this case will prove to be far more dire.

I recall thinking he was very ungrateful that the University took the publicity hit and gave him a chance. You can debate the merits of that chance our our motivations: 1) Humanitarian? Everyone deserves a 2nd chance? 2) Just win baby?

But, then he leaves. It was no good.

Innocent until proven guilty..but yes he is in dire need of some serious mentorship. I still can’t fathom how the Alabama kid basically got away with his involvement in a murder case. And Beard, already coaching again. Unbelievable!
