Anyone have experience with having an APP created for you?

A family friend who runs a non profit was quoted over 100k for app development. Sorry i don't have specifics on what she wants it to do but she wanted to know if that was in the ball park. Granted I know each app is different but any idea of an "average" cost would be helpful.

I assume you mean a mobile app (iOS or Android), not a desktop or web application?

In any case, these things always hinge on the level of complexity and functionality of the app, analysis, writing specs, development, testing, server mgmt, more testing, etc. The really good dev shops are very pricey.

There are some offshore options for lower costs but often with challenges on communications and managing the relationship.
